Children across the Highlands are being bullied in schools for their faith, an MSP has told the Scottish Parliament.
Kate Forbes, who represents Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, said parents have told her about an increasing “lack of tolerance or mockery of religious practices”.
Forbes questioned the Scottish government over freedom of religion in schools in parliament in May.
The Rev Alasdair Macleod, who has ministered across the Highlands and regularly speaks to families in the region, told The Press and Journal: “It feels to me that schools are becoming an increasingly hostile environment for Christian pupils, and this hostility must stop.”
