If you have bills you can’t pay, one London church might offer you £150 towards them if you just attend one of their seminars.
Every Sunday in September the House of Praise in Camberwell, part of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has been presenting seminars on debt.
But the added twist is that the talks are so practical that they include selecting three visitors at random to receive £150 towards their debts, provided they can show their bills.
Senior Pastor Andrew Adeleke explains: “With personal debt owed by people in the UK at £1.484 trillion, our church is committed to playing its part in the community by helping people to overcome their debt problems.
He told Inspire magazine: “I know people are thinking this is some kind of gimmick, but we are very serious about doing our bit to help people to reduce debt and encourage them to be financially independent.”
