It appears that Notre Dame Cathedral is being worshipped (Letters, Aug/Sept), despite the Apostle Paul’s declaration in Athens that God “does not dwell in temples made with hands” (Acts 17:24).
Athens, like Paris, was given to idolatry.
In confirming that the Cathedral would be rebuilt, President Macron echoed the words of the Israelites, whom God admonished for their pride: “The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with hewn stones” (Isaiah 9:10).
As believers, we are now the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in us, not in a building (1 Corinthians 3:16).
