A Yorkshire church has launched an appeal to save medieval wall paintings that date back to 1450 and need £1.5 million to conserve. The paintings in St Peter and St Paul Church in Pickering, North Yorkshire, are rated among the finest in northern Europe and depict scenes from the Bible and the lives of saints.
