THE HILLSONG CHURCH NETWORK is reported by the Kent and Sussex Courier to have expressed interest in buying the River Centre in Tonbridge, Kent.
Hillsong already rents the site with a 750 seat auditorium for a satellite church linked to a larger London gathering. Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council approved planning permission in June 2011 for current owners Harvester Conference Ltd’s request for a development on the River Centre car park of 73 apartments, 34 units for student and conference delegate accommodation, lecture and meeting rooms, and a children’s nursery. Further details of the sale have yet to be disclosed.
