The freedom of God’s people celebrated at Passover will have a new sweetness this year for former hostage Agam Berger.

Agam was one of the four girl soldiers released by the terrorist group Hamas in February. Despite the horrors they endured, Agam declared, “I went with faith, and I returned with faith.” In an interview with N12 on 20 February, Berger shared her experiences of observing Jewish holidays, keeping Shabbat, and maintaining a deep connection to her beliefs despite the harsh conditions. Berger was kidnapped from the Nahal Oz base on 7 October 2023, during Hamas’s deadly assault on southern Israel. She revealed that her faith had grown duirng captivity; she had found a Hebrew prayer book and even fasted during Passover in 2024.
