Jews and Arabs in the Jordan Valley are enjoying excellent relations, according to its regional council head David Elhaiini. The Jewish settlements there are the only source of income for the Arab population, whose quality of life has dramatically improved with the generous wages they are paid.
Meanwhile Islamic imam Mohamad Tawhidi asserts that Shi’ite Muslims have “never had a problem with the Jewish people”, adding that “Jerusalem is not ours” and telling a TV channel that the battle over the city is “pure political propaganda aimed at getting the Muslim community worked up against the Jewish state”.
