Brenda Taylor of Dovetail Shalom Ministries introduces the new musical of ‘Pilgrim’s Progress’
One of the most widely read Christian books, outside of the Bible, is ‘Pilgrim’s Progress’ by John Bunyan.
Written while he was in prison for his faith, it was given to him supernaturally by the Lord.
In Bunyan’s own words, this experience was “From this world to that which is to come, delivered under the similitude of a dream”.The book covers the major events a Christian may experience during his lifetime, with keys to overcoming. Many have found solace in its pages since Bunyan wrote it in 1678.

I read it for the first time in Spain, where my husband Roy and I were missionaries. For many years I had carried a worship anointing, and quite spontaneously new songs began to be birthed in my spirit, so I realised ‘Pilgrim’s Progress’ was about to become a musical! In the end, two churches pooled their talents, and many were saved as it was performed.
You can imagine my surprise some 18 months ago, when I began waking up with these songs ringing in my spirit, and finally realised that the Lord wanted to resurrect it. Our daughter, Julie, who is co-producer and vocalist on many of our worship CDs, was delighted, as she had been in Spain with us, and loved the musical. After many years, she hadn’t forgotten the songs, and we both felt the prompting of the Lord to revive it, and worked on producing it together.
Now, finally, after much hard work, the film is ready! There is also a CD, and a devotional handbook, which we pray will be a sort of ‘Beta’ to Alpha. What wonderful testimonies we have to the Lord’s goodness and provision. Many gave financially to help this vision become a reality to bless the Kingdom.
Our prayers are that this musical will reach beyond these shores, and bring many to faith in Jesus Christ, as well as encouraging the saints.
